Could Mentally Ill Woman’s Life Have Been Saved?

Michelle-CusseauxI was quoted in an Arizona Republic story this morning, written by D.S. Woodfill about Michelle Cusseaux, the fifty year old mentally ill woman who was shot and killed by Sgt. Percy Dupra of the Phoenix Police Department on August 14, 2014 after she allegedly charged at the officer with a hammer.

Kids in Hot Cars

I was quoted by reporter Alia Rau in The Arizona Republic this morning for an article about children being left in a hot car.

Arizona Republic: Protecting Arizona kids left in a hot car

I told her that I thought new legislation criminalizing leaving children in a hot car was unnecessary since there were already laws in place that protect children from neglectful conduct and abuse.

I was also asked about whether a person could break a car window to save a child in a hot car.  This issue came up last month when I was interviewed about dogs in hot cars.
