Felony Arraignment

What Happens at a Felony Arraignment?

felony DUI arraignmentThe Felony Arraignment is a hearing where the defendant is formally informed of the charges against them.

The purpose of the Felony Arraignment is to advise the defendant of the charges for which probable cause were found. It is at this time that the defendant enters a plea of guilty or not guilty.  The defendant always enters a Not Guilty plea at this hearing.

When a case is charged by a grand jury, the Arraignment often takes place at the same time as the Initial Appearance.

The next hearing is usually an Felony Pretrial Conference.
