Court Ordered Suspension
If you are convicted of a first time misdemeanor DUI, the criminal court will notify the Motor Vehicle Division of the conviction.
Once MVD receives this notice, if you have not served the Admin Per Se Suspension, they will suspend your license for 90 days.
This type of suspension may be eligible for a to and from work permit if you have an Arizona driver's license.
For a second offense DUI or a DUI involving drugs, there is a one year driver's license suspension, but, if the date of offense is after January 1, 2012, a person can apply for an restricted ignition interlock license after 45 days.
If you are convicted of a felony DUI offense that occurred after January 1, 2012, there is a mandatory 1 year driver's license revocation. (If the date of offense is on or before December 31, 2011, there is a 3 year revocation.) During this period you may not drive at all and at the end of the revocation period, you must go through a special re-application process in order to get your driving privileges reinstated.
